Violin education, prepared for independence

Montessori Violin

Built Around How Children Learn

Montessori Violin breaks complex skills into clear, purposeful experiences. Through careful observation, hands-on exploration, repetition, and increasing independence, children develop coordination, musical understanding, and the ability to recognize and refine their own work.

Two Pathways. One Developmental Approach.

A Curriculum Designed Around the Child

Where Montessori Meets the Violin

Montessori Violin grew from the harmonic synthesis of Montessori education and a lifelong relationship with music. Developed by an Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) certified Montessori guide with a Master of Education in Montessori Education from Loyola University Maryland and decades of experience as a violinist, the curriculum applies Montessori principles directly to learning the instrument.

Observation, isolation of difficulty, purposeful materials, repetition, and increasing independence shape the work. The result is an approach that respects both the developmental needs of the child and the technical and musical demands of the violin.

A different way to learn violin

Where Montessori Principles Meet Music Education

Montessori Violin brings Montessori principles into beginning violin instruction through careful presentation, purposeful movement, observation, repetition, and increasing independence. Children build musical understanding and technique through concrete experiences designed to support concentration, self-correction, and a growing relationship with the instrument.
